Unlock English cut-scenes in Jap Pikmin 2

Action Replay proves its usefulness once again with a code that lets us understand what's going on in the story sequences from Pikmin 2. Well, inasmuch as you can understand them, anyway...

We often whinge about cheating scum, but we do hold a certain place in our hearts for Datel's Action Replay regardless, because sometimes it lets us do things with our games that we never thought possible. Just look to the Wind Waker test level code, or the way it brought us English versions of the Japanese F-Zero GX menus when we thought the text was all but lost.

And, now, you can also look to the handy little 'cheat' disc for a way of seeing English language cut-scenes previously blocked but not removed from the Japanese version of Pikmin 2, which recently launched in the Far East. Quite why these scenes were included is hard to say, but it's possible Nintendo wanted them in there so it could demo the title at E3, which kicks off this week.

Anyway, with Pikmin 2 not out in the US till August and still without a European release date, this is certainly a potential reason to import the Japanese version, which will of course also work on European Cubes thanks to Action Replay's built in FreeLoader functionality.
