VU Games line-up
My fingers hurt.
Just as we finished typing up Namco's E3 line-up, Vivendi-Universal Games' line-up landed in our inbox. If they weren't coming to the beach with us on Sunday to play Frisbee we'd be quite indignant. [Er, I doubt that's the way to drum up sympathy from the readers. -Ed]
Anyway. There's nothing on here we didn't already know about next-generation content (Scarface was confirmed for "a next-generation console platform" the other week), so, again, we have to assume that anything related to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and, less likely, Nintendo Revolution will be confined to platform holder pre-E3 conferences and the show floor itself. If there is anything.
What is on here though is interesting enough. PC first-person shooter F.E.A.R. will be the game we look out for first. Intense and really rather spectacular judging by our previous experience, it ought to be of the most exciting PC titles of the year. Ought to. We'll test the supposition next week.
Backing that up will be the likes of StarCraft: Ghost (consoles), which is appearing at E3 for the 497th time with another new developer; 50 Cent: Bulletproof (PS2, Xbox, and even PSP), which involves getting shot lots without dying (not exactly a USP in this medium, Fitty); Scarface: The World Is Yours (PS2, Xbox, PC, a next-gen console), which involves getting shot lots without even noticing because you're on COKE; The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction (PS2, Xbox, Cube), which involves getting shots lots without even noticing because you're the goddamn Incredible Hulk (and leaping around tall buildings and picking up cars and using them as boxing gloves and stuff); and Crash Tag Team Racing (PS2, Xbox, Cube, DS, PSP), which doesn't involve getting shot at, but is a kart-racer featuring on-foot bits.
We'll bring you more on all of these as and when.
