Far Cry Instincts release date
Creeping up and popping a cap in our collective ass this September.
Ubisoft has announced a September release date for Far Cry Instincts on PS2 and Xbox.
The original Far Cry was an award-winning PC shooter that saw players stalking their prey through tropical jungles. Now it's being "re-imagined" for consoles using the same cutting-edge technology that went into the PC version.
"Just as Far Cry redefined the first-person shooter genre for the PC, Far Cry Instincts will take things a step further with its wide open environments and unique immersive gameplay elements," says Ubi.
The console game will feature signature locations from its PC counterpart, along with old favourite Full-Action Response AI. Gameplay scenarios will be improved and players will need to come up with even more survival tactics and cunning strategies to win.
"Ubisoft is blending the winning formula of Far Cry for the PC with the hardware capabilities of the consoles," said a Ubisoft marketing bod.
"The result – an intense action-packed gameplay experience that will raise the bar for the first person shooter survival genre."
There will be a hands-on demo of the game at this year's E3, so expect more news in May.
