New games added to X360 backwards compatibility list
Not just the US one, either.
Microsoft has confirmed to Eurogamer that it's not just the Yanks who've had "a whole bunch" of Xbox games added to the list of titles which will work on Xbox 360.
A total of eight games were added last week, namely: Ghost Recon 2, Ghost Recon 2 Summit Strike, Rainbow Six Black Arrow, Splinter Cell, Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow, and Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. That's right, it's a bumper Tom Clancy backwards compatibility bonanza!
And have no fear - "The new updates for the games added to the US backwards compatibility list should also work for European games," a spokesperson told us. Having tested this out, we can confirm that the games can indeed be played on X360 now - and you only need to download one update to do so.
Microsoft has also fixed the bug in the original patch which caused problems with Halo 2. Initially, once gamers had downloaded the update they found they could only play the game in 4x3 with compressed graphics, but this bug has been fixed.
As promised, Microsoft plans to keep adding titles to the backwards compatibility list in the future... We'll keep you posted.
