Fable and Sudeki slip to Summer 04
Major Xbox RPGs no longer scheduled for spring release.
The latest update to Microsoft's Xbox release schedules has revealed further slippage for both of the console's big forthcoming RPG titles, with UK developed games Fable and Sudeki now not due until summer.
Both games were originally slated for release in time for Christmas 2003, but were then slipped to Spring 2004 in the schedules - with expectations generally settling on a launch for both titles somewhere at the end of Q1 or beginning of Q2.
Now an update to the public list of forthcoming Xbox games on Microsoft's site reveals that both games have been moved back to Summer 2004 - although two other UK-developed titles are on the company's first party launch schedule for Spring, with Rare's Kameo: Elements of Power and Lionhead satellite Intrepid Games' BC both still on track.
Fable is under development at another Lionhead satellite studio, Big Blue Box, while Japanese RPG styled title Sudeki is being worked on at Climax. Both titles have attracted significant interest, and are considered to be key elements of the Xbox software line-up for 2004.
