N-Gage to answer Call of Duty
Nokia bags another high profile port for its revamped gaming platform.
Nokia has followed the official unveiling of the N-Gage QD this morning with news that Activision's World War II-based Call of Duty FPS franchise will be swabbing game decks everywhere come Q4 2004. And if that didn't make any sense to you, Call of Duty is being ported to the N-Gage this year.
Call of Duty might seem like an odd choice for an N-Gage port, but it's hardly the only first-person shooter on the platform, and it does sound like it's got a certain amount going for it - Bluetooth-based wireless multiplayer, international N-Gage Arena leaderboards, and of course World War II, which is quite a bankable conflict these days.
No screenshots yet, but we'd expect to see and hear more about Call of Duty N-Gage, along with the various other N-Gage projects announced in recent months (Bomberman, Pocket Kingdom, Alien Front, Ashen, Operation Shadow, The Sims Bustin' Out, etc), when we land in Los Angeles next month for the E3 trade show.
