MechAssault DS details
Dual screen action promised.
Calling all MechWarrior fans - the series is heading to Nintendo's newest handheld in the shape of MechAssault: Phantom War for the DS.
The game will feature 20 different types of vehicle, including battle mechs and tanks, plus 24 single-player campaigns spread over four planets. There are also three wireless multiplayer modes for up to four players, but it's not yet clear whether you'll be able to play online via the Wi-Fi Connection service.
MechAssault will make full use of the DS's dual screens. The top screen will show the action from a third-person perspective, while you take control on the bottom screen with the stylus - using it to hack mechs, change weapons and eject when necessary.
MechAssault: Phantom War is due out later this year.
