Sims creator talks Rev
He's rather keen on it.
Sims creator Will Wright has gone on record to express his interest in the Nintendo Revolution's "freestyle" controller.
In an interview with Shacknews, Wright said: "I'm really interested in the Revolution, to see how the controller works out.
"That looks pretty cool. It looks very interesting to me. I like the idea of taking the games more outside the box and more into that close-body kind of space."
Wright didn't go as far as to say he's considering developing for the Revolution, but he did also express interest in one of Nintendo's other platforms.
"The handheld space is interesting, how that's developing with the DS in particular," Wright said.
As for what else he's looking forward to: "The computer gaming side seems more about evolution and polish, but there's still something to be said for that. Civ IV, which I'm looking forward to playing, I'm sure is a really excellent game. I haven't played it yet, but I can't wait to."
So what of Spore, Wright's crazy new "Sim Everything" title which sees you guiding a single-celled organism through the evolutionary process?
Apparently it's "going well," according to Wright, despite the challenges involved.
"I've got an amazing team on it, and I'm actually very satisfied with where it's going," he said.
"I think we're going to pull it off."
There's no word on a release date as yet, but it has been confirmed that Spore is in development for the PC - and rumour has it that an Xbox 360 version is also in the works. Who knows, maybe we'll even get a Revolution version, too...
