Tamagotchi DS sequel
Now with fish, bowling.
Namco Bandai has announced a sequel to DS title Tamagotchi Connection. It's called Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop 2, and it's due out this winter in the US.
Like the original, it tasks you with opening up a variety of shops, including new ones like a Bowling Alley and Sushi Bar, and doing stuff to impress the customers.
This invariably takes the form of mini-games, which earn you "Gotchi points", which you'll need if you're going to clothe, feed and care for your "Tamagotchi partners" and do a "civil union" with one.
Along with new shops, and five different "happiness levels" to help determine what sort of dialogue you'll see, you'll have the return of Mametchi, Memetchi and Kuchipatchi to look forward to, and find upgrades available for old shop-types like the Concert Hall, where you can sing into the DS' microphone.
Overall there'll be over 100 Tamagotchi friends, and you can catch a glimpse of a few of them in some of the first screenshots.
