Nintendo is planning to launch a couple of new GameCube bundles next month to try and capture the Christmas bonus, as the platform holder gets closer to launching its festive hopes Paper Mario 2, Metroid Prime 2 and the like in the coming months.

None of those games is the subject of a bundle just yet though. Instead, you can look forward to seeing a Mario Kart: Double Dash!! bundle featuring the game and a platinum, purple or black GameCube for £79 from November 5th.

Nintendo is also releasing a Pokémon Colosseum Pak featuring a black GameCube, the game in question and a 59-block memory card (usually bundled with the game anyway) this November 12th for £89.

In contrast, Microsoft and Sony's consoles now retail for £99 standalone, while some retailers continue to promote their own bundles. Blockbuster for example - this reporter bought his younger brother a PS2 and a copy of Burnout 3 for £110 there on Sunday.
