Konami has confirmed that Pro Evolution Soccer 4 will launch in Europe on October 15th on PS2, with the PC-DVD and Live enabled Xbox version due out as planned a month later in November.

The cover art for this year's game features Thierry Henry prominently alongside Italian front man Francesco Totti and internationally renowned and respected referee Pierluigi Collina, who ref'd his last game at a major championship earlier this year and appears on the PES box for the second year running.

"The addition of licensed clubs, vastly improved gameplay, and its association with some of the biggest names in football in Henry, Totti and Collina prove how important [Pro Evo] is to Konami, and we anticipate huge sales as eager fans queue for their copies on October 15th," said Martin Schneider, European marketing and PR direction for Konami of Europe.

The October 15th date should put it into direct competition with EA's FIFA Football 2005, which is expected to make it out in mid-October as well, although EA's press website now lists the game simply as "October".
