Ubisoft has announced plans to release psychedelic PS2 pinball title Flipnic in Europe and Australia this Christmas. Developed by Sony Japan, Flipnic is a pinball game which mixes traditional flipping with bizarre objectives.

To unlock each of the game's 50 levels (set across five different environments - jungle, techno, metal, etc), players will have to shatter spacecraft, rescue flamingos from vicious crocs and feed monkeys. Unlockable mini-tables will include football and basketball themed efforts.

As you can see from these screenshots, Flipnic is much less sterile than most pinball titles, with all sorts of drug-induced lighting effects, thrashing buffers and pyrotechnics.
