Play PGR2 and win a trip to the States
Microsoft representatives seek Online Racing World Champion. No wonder they emailed us.
If you reckon you're good at Project Gotham Racing 2, then you might be in with a chance of earning a free trip to the States next month. As part of a worldwide PGR2 Tournament, the European Xbox Live users who post the top three lap times on Princes Street East between now and midday (BST) on May 10th will be flown out to the NASCAR Speed Week in North Carolina next month to represent Europe against two drivers each from the US and Canada. All expenses paid.
The only real terms that bind you are that you must be over 21, and must have your Xbox set to "opt in" for communication with Live, so that the organisers can contact you if you happen to make the cut. Other than that, if you're from one of the ten participating European countries (Denmark, Finland, France, Italy, Ireland, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK), then you stand just as good a chance as anybody else. Unless, that is, you're crap at PGR2.
We've certainly come up against some skilled opponents on Xbox Live since PGR2 was released in Europe on November 28th last year, so the competition is bound to be fierce, but for the chance of a free weeklong holiday at the end of May - and the opportunity to compete against the Yanks and Canadians for a €4,000 grand prize and the title of Online Racing World Champion - we're willing to sacrifice our social lives in pursuit of a decent lap time. If you reckon you could be too, then take full notice of the tournament Terms & Conditions and we'll see you on the track.
