Knights of the Old Republic sequel confirmed
Obsidian takes over from BioWare. We're guessing LucasArts won't cancel this one.
Rumours of a sequel to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic appear to have been confirmed this weekend. According to reports, US gaming mags Electronic Gaming Monthly and Computer Gaming World will take an exclusive look at 'KOTOR 2' in issues arriving in newsagents towards the end of April.
These reports also confirm previous rumours that it will be Obsidian Entertainment, not BioWare, which continues development of the series for LucasArts. Confused parties would do well to remember that Obsidian was founded by Fergus Urquhart, former boss of Interplay's Black Isle Studios - the developer behind Icewind Dale and Planescape: Torment.
Although platform details and other specific of the KOTOR sequel are being kept away from prying eyes for the time being, it sounds like we can expect a flurry of updates in the middle of next month - perhaps even before. It all depends on whether we have to wait for the magazine, or whether a printer decides to force the lid on EGM's exclusive with the use of a scanner. Light side points? Or dark side points? That's his quandary.
