Tekken 5 due on PS2 (Didn't we already do this one?)
Just pretend we didn't know, or Sony Europe will cry.
Tekken 5. PS2 exclusive. Next summer in Europe. Screenshots. S'about it.
We told you the rest last week when Famitsu-channelling-Namco sort of confirmed that it was coming out in Japan next spring. It's still a fighting game, only this time you can earn "fight money" and play dress-up with the cast of a-few-more-than-20 characters in-between hitting people very hard in the face.
There's also some sort of action-adventure mode tacked on that tells a story parallel to the events of whatever caused the primary one-on-one fisticuffs, although we understand it's not a virtual trip to Ms. Selfridges to buy the game's stock of hats, glasses and other accessories. That'll be some sort of menu.
As for what everyone is generally fighting about this time, we'll try to condense it for you: Jin beat Kazuya and Heihachi but spared them in honour of his mother, a swarm of Jacks arrived at Honmaru and attacked Heihachi and Kazuya sacrificed him to escape, Honmaru then exploded and Heihachi was presumed dead, after which an unknown replacement figure leading the Mishima Zaibatsu fired up a fifth King of Iron Fist Tournament. Thwack on.
Tekken 5 won't be the only Tekken-y proposition out on the PS2 in 2005, mind, as you'll remember that Nina Williams-fronted spin-off Death by Degrees is also expected to start ponytail-ing and catsuit-ing for you attention within a few months.
Nina's looking pretty sharp in Tekken 5 too. Looky. We look forward to trussing her up like a harlot more than most.
