Jiraiya unlikely to appear in Europe

One of Capcom's TGS launches may slip through our fingers.

Jiraiya: The Magical Ninjya (yes, with a 'y') probably won't be appearing in Europe. As fellow Capcom obsessives may recall, Jiraiya was one of the firm's product announcements at last year's Tokyo Game Show, and promised us a young ninja with the power to summon beasts, a co-operative gameplay mode and character designs from Maximo artist Susumu Matsushita.

However following the game's disappearance from Capcom Europe's release schedule recently, we have it on good authority that Jiraiya will not be appearing on the PAL format. Capcom declined to comment this morning, but in the words of one source a European release "looks unlikely".

Here's hoping Jiraiya's still on course for an English language release in the States.
