LucasArts currently has no titles in the works for GameCube, with none appearing on internal schedules, EuroGamer has learnt. That's right, kids: there are no GameCube Star Wars games currently on the slate.

In addition, Ubisoft confirmed today that it had no GameCube titles on its books at the moment, but is preparing to announce an unspecified number at E3. The previously announced GameCube version of Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow is "the same as the PS2 version," according to the company. "There's no release date for it as yet."

The news comes after yesterday's revelation that EA and Codemasters have shied away from making GameCube versions of upcoming games preparing to cash in on the Euro 2004 football tournament. Codemasters went one step further than the world's largest publisher and confirmed that it has no GameCube games currently in the works at all. All this follows Eidos' confirmation towards the end of last year that its internal GameCube development had ceased.

And while light is expected to shine through the mire at E3 this year, with first showings of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker 2 and Metroid Prime 2, European releases for both games are expected in 2005. Third party offerings this year look to be supplied in the main by Activision and EA, with the likes of Spider-Man 2, Shrek 2 and TimeSplitters 3.

To paraphrase the wrestling boys, GameCube owners are likely to view this as THE SuXXoR. E3 will provide a better idea of the continuing adventures of Nintendo's gaming handbag.
