Nintendo promises big things at Game Stars Live
Including games "never before seen by UK eyes". And what might those be? Well, we don't actually know, but we do have some details. Pesky press releases.
Nintendo has started trailing its line-up for the inaugural public Game Stars Live event taking place at London's ExCeL conference centre this September 1st to 5th, and promises that we can expect more to come including games "never before seen by UK eyes".
At the moment the focus is on GameCube and Game Boy Advance, with no mention of the Nintendo DS, which debuted at the American E3 trade event this year, but the promise of never-before-seen titles ought to be incentive enough for Nintendo fans to take notice - it could mean the likes of Metroid Prime 2, Paper Mario 2, Star Fox 2, or perhaps even that Legend of Zelda trailer everyone got excited about in Los Angeles.
For the moment though, Pokémon Fire Red and Leaf Green have been confirmed for the GBA along with Donkey Konga for the Cube, which is bound to prove popular with the public - and indeed the staff on the stand. We hope Nintendo UK has a paracetamol budget...
Meanwhile, the stand itself sounds like a bit of a laugh, boasting a British seaside theme with a Haunted Mansion, a Mario Crazy Golf course, and a 10-metre high, working helter skelter. That all ties in with Nintendo's Konga Beach Road Trip, of which GSL marks the completion. Interestingly, another game on that tour is the European version of Animal Crossing (due out on Sept. 24th) - perhaps we'll see that at Game Stars Live too.
Nintendo won't be the only exhibit of note at Game Stars Live, of course - other publishers already signed up include Ubisoft, Konami, Acclaim, EA, Activision, Eidos, Atari and Nokia. There's a full exhibitor list on the GSL website, and we'd imagine some of the titles will tickle your fancy. Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory? Prince of Persia 2? Pro Evolution Soccer 4? We're there already...
