Ninja Theory hiring for unannounced game
Is it Enslaved 2?
Heavenly Sword and Enslaved developer Ninja Theory is hiring for an unannounced project.
The UK studio wants a lead designer for the project, according to a post on its website.
Ninja Theory's looking for someone with "AAA title experience" and "extensive knowledge of major console systems". It would also be "great" to see "experience using the Unreal engine within game design".
So, let's speculate.
The hire can't be for Devil May Cry – that was announced at the Tokyo Game Show. Could it be for a sequel to the recently released Enslaved?
Earlier this month Ninja Theory boss Tameem Antoniades told Eurogamer the Devil May Cry project would not stop it embarking on a second Enslaved instalment if the opportunity arose.
"We've been growing into two teams for the last year," he said. "We've got capacity to do two games."
Enslaved: Odyssey to the West released on Friday, 8th October and picked up 8/10 in its Eurogamer review.
While Antoniades said no planning had been done for a sequel, he'd "like to see something happen".
"The thinking from the beginning was not to assume there would be a sequel, just to put everything into this game. It's a new IP so let's not plan for a sequel because the chances are we'll only disappoint ourselves.
"So we mentally prepared for that - we've not planned for a sequel. But if it gains some traction, I'd like to see something happen."
