No Killer 7 for Wii
Capcom admits web blooper.
Capcom has held its hands up in apology this afternoon after misleading people into believing Killer 7 was heading to Wii.
It confirmed that no port would be heading to Nintendo's new console at this moment in time, but hinted it wasn't entirely out of the question for the future.
Confusion arose initially when a Wii symbol appeared next to the Killer 7 listing on the official Capcom website. But the publisher insists it was purely a mistake left over from testing various icon sizes.
Admittedly the introduction of the Wiimote in the gun combat would be a perfect fit, but unlike, say, Resident Evil 4, Killer 7 was never a big hit for Capcom, so a port at this stage always seemed unlikely.
Grasshopper Manufacture was partly responsible for the original GameCube and PlayStation 2 title, and has already confirmed development of No More Heroes for Wii, along with two additional unnamed projects.
Killer 7 was a heavily stylised game released back in 2005. It threw convention out of the window, with a completely bonkers plot and some slightly surreal moments that marked it out as a one-of-a-kind game.
