Bizarre Creations' Gareth Wilson has revealed that the studio doesn't plan to continue its classic Xbox Live Arcade series, Geometry Wars.

"Right now we don't have any plans for Geometry Wars 3 or anything," Wilson told Kotaku on the site's podcast.

Stephen Cakebread, the Bizarre coder who created the abstract twin-stick shooters, is busy working on other things, Wilson said.

"That doesn't mean that at some point Stephen won't have a genius moment and will start working on it, but right now Stephen is working on all sorts of other projects," he said.

One of those projects is surely Blur, the arcade racer currently in beta testing that will be Bizarre's first major release for owners Activision when it appears on 28th May.

The very first Bizarre game to bear the Activision logo, however, was 2008's last of the twin-stick blasters. Read our Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 review to discover why you'd want a sequel - or why it doesn't need one, depending on your point of view.
