On Friday one game will be released in the UK. A single, solitary game. And it is called The Ultimate Battle of the Sexes and it is for the Wii.

In the unlikely event that you're not interested in participating in the ultimate battle of the sexes, but you're hungry for new game releases, the internet is your only hope. More specifically, Xbox Live Arcade. This Wednesday sees two game releases on the Xbox 360's digital download service: X-Men Arcade and Quake Arena Arcade. Both are Xbox exclusives. X-Men won't be released on the European PlayStation Store until February. Quake is without a confirmed PS3 release. Feel shafted, PlayStation 3 owners?

At least you've got Sackboy's Prehistoric Moves, the Move-enabled LittleBigPlanet spin-off, out this Wednesday on the EU PlayStation Store.

Chart Predictions!

Each week one of the team will step up to predict the UK all-formats chart. The following predicts the outcome for the week beginning Friday 17h December (to be reported on Monday 20 December).

Tom Bramwell, Editor

"So it's left to me to pick the official Christmas chart! Sadly it's going to be enormously boring, as it always is. It's always either FIFA or Call of Duty at the top, Assassin's always does well if it's out, and so do Need for Speed and a game for a Nintendo format. Wildcards this year are World of Warcraft: Cataclysm and Gran Turismo 5, but I would be surprised if they sustain the sales to unseat my predictions. I wonder what the odds are on guessing the whole top five correctly..."

  1. FIFA 11
  2. Call of Duty: Black Ops
  3. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
  4. Just Dance 2
  5. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit

Eurogamer senior staff writer Rob Purchese gazed into his crystal ball last week. He said Call of Duty: Black Ops would be top, FIFA 11 second, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm third, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood fourth and Just Dance 2 fifth. How did he do?

UK All-Formats Top 5 (reported this morning)

  1. Call of Duty: Black Ops
  2. FIFA 11
  3. World of Warcraft: Cataclysm
  4. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
