Those PlayStation 3 owning dinosaur-lovers among you who are "a bit slow" in the old downloading US demos directly department will be pleased to hear that the PAL version of last Thursday's American Turok demo is currently on course for a 7th February release on PSN.

That's according to Disney Interactive, which said the date isn't 100 percent confirmed but is what the publisher is "currently looking at".

The demo, also already released on Xbox Live, weighs in at over 1GB and let's you wander around doing knife kills and shooting up dinos, predictably. Wikipedia has quite a nice rundown of confirmed dinos, if you're interested. Dilophosaurus is in there - and thankfully free of the inaccuracies popularised by Jurassic Park, namely that it looks like a parasol whenever it gets cross.

As for the game itself, it's a first-person shooter where you take on the role of Joseph Turok, some sort of special forces man on a mission to rid the world of the evil Roland Kane on an alien planet full of dinosaurs. You can see how developer Propaganda Games built on that by going back in time to our first impressions.

The full version is due out on PS3 and Xbox 360 8th February, with a PC version also planned.
