Peanuts platformer announced by Activision
From the developer of Naughty Bear.
Charles Schulz's famous comic strip Peanuts is getting a video game adaptation come 6th November, publisher Activision has announced.
Well, technically Peanuts is getting a movie adaptation, and that's what's getting the video game spin-off, but you get the idea.
Dubbed The Peanuts Movie: Snoopy's Grand Adventure, it will be an oldschool platformer by Behaviour Interactive, the developer of Naughty Bear and its sequel, Panic in Paradise. Behaviour has also collaborated on numerous other titles such as Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor.
Players will assume the role of Snoopy as he searches for Charlie Brown and the gang in a game of hide-and-seek gone too far. By assuming many of Snoopy's alter egos, such as the cape-wearing Flying Ace, players will have to explore such diverse locales as jungles, Paris and the moon to locate the Peanuts gang.
Snoopy's Grand Adventure will support drop-in/drop-out co-op as the second player assumes the role of Woodstock to distract enemies and open up hidden paths. As seen in the debut trailer below, it all looks a bit Donkey Kong Country, only with that timeless Schulz charm. But will Behaviour capture the thrill of Rare and Retro's primal platforming series?
Guess we'll find out come 6th November when The Peanuts Movie: Snoopy's Grand Adventure launches on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U and 3DS.
