Acer's Predator Z35P is of the best ultrawide monitors - and now it's on offer
UK site Ebuyer is offering a £150 discount.
One of the best ultrawide monitors is currently available at a steep discount from UK retailer Ebuyer. The Acer Predator Z35P is a curved ultrawide sporting a 3440x1440 resolution and can overclock to hit a refresh rate of 120Hz. The inclusion of G-Sync means that the monitor should be well-suited to anyone with a Nvidia GTX or RTX graphics card in their machine, which accounts for 75 per cent of all players, according to Steam's hardware survey. The Z35P debuted earlier this year at its RRP of £800, but Ebuyer is now offering it for £650 - a £150 reduction, nearly 20 per cent, that makes this gaming monitor much more palatable.
Indeed, if you look at Predator Z35P reviews - including that of our sister site Rock Paper Shotgun - you'll see that the Z35P compares favourably to its competitors, with excellent contrast, good colour accuracy and the rare ability to operate at 120Hz rather than the standard 100Hz that this VA panel is normally capable of. The only commonly cited drawback given in these reviews is the high £800 RRP - so at this discounted price, the Z35P becomes one of the very best ultrawide monitors on the market.
It's also a pretty good time to pick up an ultrawide monitor rather than the standard 16:9 option. Monitors with wider aspect ratios of 21:9 or 32:9 have become much more popular over the last year, which in turn is driving game developers to support these new resolutions. Most modern games now support the 3440x1440 resolution of the Predator Z35P out of the box, and for the rare few that don't you can always turn to resources like the excellent PCGamingWiki or the Wide Screen Gaming Forum, which rate ultrawide support in new games as they're released.
Using a good ultrawide monitor like the Z35P is a uniquely immersive experience, so it's well worth going for if you have the money and desk space to make it happen. The £650 asking price for the Z35P is still a lot of money, but after using the Z35P for a few months, I can promise you it's money well spent - and it's far more palatable than the usual £800 price tag.
