PictoChat level in Smash Bros
Beat someone up on a penis.
The latest Smash Bros. Dojo update reveals plans for a Super Smash Bros. Brawl level based on Nintendo DS text communication app PictoChat.
"At first, there's nothing there. It's just flat. If you wait a bit, terrain gets drawn in with a few stylus strokes!" the site explains. "The doodles that appear will disappear after a while, and then something else will get drawn."
Watch out, too, because things will move around a bit, and there will be side winds with which to contend. On the plus side, you can listen to Mii Channel and Wii Shop music while you play. As the Dojo puts it, "That's just divine."
Makes you wonder whether they'll stop there or keep on going. How about a level built on top of a pile of Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection dongles, set against the backdrop of people war-driving your WEP network out the window?
More seriously, it makes you wonder why more people don't go down this route for in-game advertising. Banners in games look silly. This looks wicked. Did we learn nothing from Cool Spot?
Anyway, head over to Smash Bros. Dojo to marvel at screenshots and details on the rest of the game, which is due out early next year.
Smash Bros. Brawl, for unfollowers, is a Nintendo-themed beat-'em-up that was brilliant on the GameCube and should be even more brilliant on the Wii, having resurrected the likes of Solid Snake, Kid Icarus and Sonic the Hedgehog to fight against Mario, Peach, Fox McCloud, Samus, Pikachu and co.
