Pier Solar HD confirmed for Wii U

Coming to Ouya and Android now, too.

Pier Solar HD, a spruced up version the gargantuan Sega Mega Drive RPG from back in 2010 (yes, 2010), is confirmed to be heading to Wii U after it reached its highest stretch goal of $200,000 on Kickstarter. Currently the tally rests at $212,369 with 13 hours to go.

Prior to crossing the $200K mark, Pier Solar HD reached its $175,000 stretch goal to fund Android and Ouya versions, too. It also soared past the $160K stretch goal that promised to make a Director's Cut of the game with extra side quests, local co-op mini-games, and "new battle features."

In addition the newly announced Wii U, Android and Ouya versions, the HD remake of Pier Solar is slated for release on Xbox 360, PC, Mac, Linux, and Dreamcast.

Curiously Sony's platforms weren't mentioned anywhere in the stretch goals or target platforms, but developer WaterMelon added "We might just have our eyes on PS3. Who knows?"

Prospective backers have until 2:30 p.m. GMT today to reserve a copy of the game on Xbox 360, PC, Mac or Linux for $15. Pier Solar HD is targeting a December 2013 release.
