PixelJunk Monsters heads up this week's PlayStation Network updates for PS3, while Syphon Filter: Combat Ops takes top billing on the PSP Store for PC, with a PSone version of Judge Dredd also in attendance if you have a few more quid to spare.

Monsters is the second of Q-Games' PixelJunk titles to arrive on PSN following on from PixelJunk Racers in 2007. It's a puzzle game that involves defending castles by erecting towers. Kristan was playing it in the office today and it has lovely retro graphics and music overheard from his headphones was suitably annoying. It costs GBP 3.49 for PS3 owners. Look out for a review very soon.

Combat Ops, which costs GBP 6.99, is an online multiplayer PSP game for up to six players, with stats and rankings, unlockable characters and four environments to run around in killing your friends.

Judge Dredd, meanwhile, is another PSone game, which, in the words of the Sony's blurb, is a first-person 3D shooter with aliens and mutants to sort out. It also costs GBP 3.49 and as with other PSone games it's playable via PS3 or PSP, or both if you fancy using up two of your five allowed downloads at once.

Also on the PS3 Store this week is a Call of Duty 4 theme and five COD4 wallpapers, along with a Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution launch trailer.

Still no sign of Everyday Shooter or PAIN for PS3 owners, sadly, but they aren't far away according to whispers from within Sony.
