Everything else you need to know about the Ultra Unlock 2021: Space event in Pokémon Go
When it comes to the Ultra Unlock 2021: Space event in Pokémon Go, the obvious draw is which Pokémon will be available in raids.
Not only do they see the return of the legendary Palkia, but two regionally exclusive will be available in raids worldwide.
You can battle both Kangaskhan - usually exclusive to Australasia - and Heracross - exclusive to South America, southern Florida and Texas - in three-star raids.
Since these Pokémon are usually tied to their specific regions, this is the perfect opportunity to add two rare Pokémon to your Pokédex. (I know I'm catching myself a Heracross!)
Palkia and Heracross are also having their shiny forms released during this event!
In one-star raids you'll be able to battle Pokémon like Unown U, Elgyem and Espurr. It's also important to note that all of these Pokémon will be available in raids until Friday, 20th August at 10am (local time).
A selection of Pokémon are also appearing more frequently in the wild throughout the event and this includes more regionally exclusive Pokémon. Both red and blue-striped Basculin will be appearing freely across the globe, alongside Heatmor - exclusive to Europe, Asia and Australasia - and Durant - exclusive to North America, South America and Africa.
If you're missing any of these regional Pokémon, make sure you catch them now!
Finally, the Ultra Unlock Part 2: Time event sees a change to the 7km egg pool once again:
- West Sea Shellos
- East Sea Shellos
- Red-striped Basculin
- Blue-striped Basculin
- Heatmor
- Durant
Remember to open your gifts during the event if you want to try hatching any of the above!
The Max Out Season is here and includes a new global event, Wild Area. You can now catch Dynamax Pokémon through Max Battles. First, however, you need to visit Power Spots to collect Max Particles and complete the To the Max! quest. Don't forget to try out Routes, Gift Exchange and Party Play while you're hunting down rare Pokémon, fighting in the Go Battle League or competing in PokéStop Showcases.
Ultra Unlock 2021: Space date and time in Pokémon Go explained
The Ultra Unlock 2021: Space event in Pokémon Go runs from Friday, 6th August to Tuesday, 17th August, starting at 10am (local time) and ending at 8pm (local time). The raid pool Pokémon, however, will be available until Friday, 20th August at 10am (local time).
Since Ultra Unlock 2021: Space is a timed research quest, it won't be available once this event ends. This means that you must complete it during the event if you want to earn all of the rewards.
The raid pool will also change, so, if you want to catch Palkia, Kangaskhan or Heracross, you must do so before the end of Ultra Unlock 2021: Space.
Good luck!
