Pokémon Sun and Moon will rise on 3DS this year
Now confirmed (for real this time).
Nintendo has officially announced Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, which will launch for 3DS this year.
The two games were announced just now in a Pokémon Direct broadcast from Nintendo.
Pokémon celebrates its 20th anniversary this year - a perfect time, then, for a new generation of critters to arrive.
And we've already seen a new legendary Pokémon likely to feature in the game.
Sun and Moon's names and game logos were first spotted online via a trademark listing yesterday.
The games will be available simultaneously in multiple languages, Nintendo confirmed. You'll also be able to transfer Pokémon from the original games via their Virtual Console versions, which will interact with the 3DS' cloud-based Pokémon storage app.
