Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon - Route 11, Route 12, Blush Mountain and Ula'ula Beach

Route 11, Route 12 and Blush Mountain and Ula'ula Beach are the next routes on your way to your second Trial on Ula'ula Island/ They're nice and long, with plenty of trainers and optional detours to take on the way, so drink in the sights and crack on!

Here on this page we'll explain all you need to know about the story and main events as they unfold here, and as with all pages of our walkthrough we'll highlight any and all trainers, items and wild Pokémon available to catch as well.

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Route 11

Route 11 is a classic - some would say run-of-the-mill - Pokémon Route. Five items, three trainers, and some fairly interesting wild Pokémon like Pancham and Komala make it a nice enough stroll.

There's nothing hugely significant here, but be sure to scan the patches of long grass for two hidden Stardust and one hidden Star Piece. At the end of the route you'll find a Black Belt who won't let you pass until you beat him. He only has a Bewear though, so it should be simple enough!

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Route 12 and Ula'ula Beach

Route 12 and the small, adjoining Ula'ula Beach form a lengthy route with loads of new Pokémon and trainers to find along the way.

As you enter the route, however, you'll be stopped by your friend Hapu. She registers a new Ride Pokémon to your pager, Mudsdale Gallop! This allows you to travers rocky paths that are too rough for regular people to get across, like the one right in front of you.

Hop on and ride across, and soon you'll find a fork in the route. Hang right first (although either's fine) and take on the trainers there, picking up a Hyper Potion to the far right, until you reach the opening with the 'route kahuna' trainer that wants you to beat all the others.

Now head back up the left side throught the path that's too narrow for Mudsdale, until you find Rising Star Leilani and the Elixir just below her. Back down by the route kahuna, tackle the roaming Scientist Jayson, and head towards the beach where - slightly out of line of sight in the grass to the left - you'll see Swimmer Sara.

After beating her that's all the trainers done, so you can tackle the 'kahuna' and earn TM82 Dragon Trail! Be sure to catch either Houndoom or Manectric, depending on your version, while you're here as well!

Down on Ula'ula beach you'll find a spot for Mantine surfing and a few small sidequests, with a Revive tucked away to the left of the surfing shops and several hidden items all over the beach.

Other than that there's not a lot too it, so you can now either head west to Route 13 and your next Trial, or take a quick detail north-west, by the 'kahuna', to Blush Mountain, which we reckon is worth the time!

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Blush Mountain and Geothermal Power Plant

Blush Mountain, and the attached Geothermal Power Plant, is an optional route off of Route 12 where you can find some rare Pokémon, useful items and even evolve some special Pokémon, too.

There's just the one trainer, but it's worth the journey if you have a certain Pokémon in need of evolution. You can get a Sun Stone in the bottom-left patch of long grass, and then others such as Charjabug, Nosepass, and Megneton will evolve into their next stages when levelled up here, thanks to the elecrtomagnetic fields generated from the plant!
