PS3 Nier debuts atop Japanese charts
New SMB Wii holds onto second.
Square Enix's Japan-exclusive PS3 version of Nier, dubbed Nier Replicant, debuted atop the Japanese sales charts for the week ending 25th April.
Media-create's regional sales chart (thanks Gpara) shows the game selling 60,000 copies for the week - more than twice as much as any other game on the list.
The Xbox 360 version of the game, Nier Gestalt, debuted way down at 11th place on the list, with only with 7800 units sold for the week.
Last week's sales leader, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, took second place despite falling 3000 units to weekly sales 29,000 units. The perennial seller led a line-up of five Nintendo-published games in the week's top ten Japanese sellers.
A "Game of the Year" re-release of Elder Scrolls: Oblivion made a notable debut in the Japanese top ten this week, selling 12,000 units on the PS3.
