PS Plus subscriptions rise 60 per cent year-over-year.
Just over a month ago Sony announced that it had sold over 30m PS4s. Now it's shot through the 35m mark with a total tally of over 35.9m PS4 sold to consumers in the just over 25 months it's been available.
5.7m of those units were sold during the "holiday season", i.e. 22nd November through 2nd January.
PS4 software sales have also been robust with more than 35m titles sold in retail stores or digitally within the same timeframe.
Furthermore, PS Plus subscribers have risen a whopping 60 per cent at the end of 2015 compared to the same time the previous year.
"We are absolutely delighted that so many customers have selected PS4 as the best place to play throughout this holiday season and that the PS4 community is growing more than ever," said president and global CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. Andrew House.
"We remain steadfast in our commitment to deliver innovative entertainment experiences, and look forward to bringing an unprecedented games portfolio from third party developers and publishers and SCE Worldwide Studios, including Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, New Hot Shots Golf (working title) and The Last Guardian, this coming year."
