PUBG for PlayStation 4 spotted in ratings board leak
Time to make e-rangelments.
What would we do without the Korean Game Rating Board? Along with hinting some Castlevanias are due to be re-released, it has now posted a rating for PUBG on PlayStation 4. Chicken dinners for all!
The game's PlayStation debut doesn't come as much as a surprise: with PUBG fast approaching its 12-month anniversary on Xbox, it's likely the game is reaching the end of its exclusivity deal with Microsoft. It's not great news for Xbox, as PUBG has been one of the console's (very few) recent exclusive titles.
Despite PUBG's long stint on Xbox, the game was only available via Game Preview until its full launch earlier this month. As PlayStation has no early access programme, PUBG will have to be fully released from the get-go, and will likely be held to higher standards. No pressure, PUBG Corp.
Questions have already been raised online as to whether PUBG on PlayStation will be free to play. But with the game costing £24.99 on Xbox One and £26.99 on Steam, the price is likely to be in line with other platforms. Many believe PUBG's pricing has placed it at a disadvantage compared to free-to-play rivals like Fortnite. Even H1Z1, which has been highly successful on PlayStation, could present a challenge to PUBG's PlayStation release.
With PUBG already on PC, Xbox One and mobile, the only other major platform missing is the Switch. We'll have to keep our eyes peeled in future Nintendo Directs.
