PUBG's limited-time team deathmatch mode War is now live

First to reach 200 points, re-spawns enabled.

War, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds' latest limited-time Event Mode, is now live on PC, offering a team-deathmatch focussed alternative to the usual Battle Royale formula.

War is designed for three teams of ten (or the closest that PUBG's matchmaking can muster), and unfolds over a "small slice" of the Erangel map. A match's safe zone is immediately visible from the air, and never shrinks or changes during play.

To get the action unfurling as quickly as possible, all players will spawn with one random AR or DMR equipped, one random pistol, a Level 1 helmet and vest, and one grenade. Other loot can be acquired in buildings, or via care packages which drop every 90 seconds.

Points are awarded for a performing various activities during play, and the first team to reach 200 points wins. If that target isn't met by the time a match's 15-minute limit expires, the team closest to 200 points will be crowned victorious.

Three points are awarded for a kill, one point for a down-but-not-out strike or successful revival, and five points are deducted for team kills or team down-but-not-outs.

Crucially, players aren't scrubbed from the match forever on death, as is the case in Battlegrounds' usual mode of play; instead, they re-spawn on the airplane high above the map, ready to immediately plunge back down into the fray.

War is available to play right now, and the limited-time event will come to a close on Sunday, April 15th at 7pm PDT / Monday, April 16th at 3am in the UK. Full details can be found in developer Bluehole's latest Steam blog update.
