Razer launches a new PC game store with a few good deals
Shavings to be made.
Razer, the company that makes over-the-top gaming mice and laptops and keyboards and so on, has launched a digital PC game shop.
The Razer Game Store appears to sell codes for other stores such as Steam and Ubisoft's Uplay, and there are some fairly enticing deals to kick things off: a fiver off new games Far Cry 5 and Ni No Kuni 2, and big discounts for Wolfenstein 2 (down to £16) and Assassin's Creed: Origins (down to £28.50).
Razer's sweetener is offering rewards for shopping there, such as discount vouchers for the next time you shop, both in the game store and the hardware store.
You also earn a virtual currency called zSilver when you shop, which you can put towards games and hardware in the future. Let's just hope zSilver amasses quicker than Nectar Points, eh?
There's a pretty good spread of games there already, and among them Fallout 4 is £10, and so is the new Doom. More competition never hurt, I suppose, and Razer has enough clout to make a good go of it.
