How to complete Pouring Forth Oil
This mission is picked up by John Marston at the camp. For us, it appeared after completing The Spines of America. This is technically the first part of the mission - Pouring Forth Oil - I.
Pouring Forth Oil - II
Pouring Forth Oil - II objectives:
- Deliver the Wagon to the drop off within 1 minute 45 seconds
After the cutscene, two Oil Wagons will appear on the map. Head to them and steal them. As soon as you get close you'll attract the interest of the guards in the compound, but don't worry about fighting them - approaching from the north, you can run round the fence and hop inside one.
Take off as fast as you can and drop it off at the barn designated on your map to complete the first part of the mission. You probably won't have your horse, so sprint to Emerald Station stagecoach to fast travel to Valentine, and map the trip back to camp.
Pouring Forth Oil - III
All you have to do with this third stage is chat to John at the camp. Next, complete A Fisher of Men. You can then come back to this mission.
A Fisher of Men
A Fisher of Men medal objectives:
- After arriving at the river, catch a fish within 1 minute 30 seconds
- Complete within 7 minutes 20 seconds
This is a mission from Abigail Roberts at the camp. This showed up after we completed Pouring Forth Oil - II.
This is a pretty simple mission - take Jack down to the designated point by the river, and follow the tutorial. Remember to stop reeling when the fish is moving in the river, and to hold up on the analogue stick when reeling to make it go a bit quicker.
Fish for long enough and there'll be a cutscene, at which point you need to take Jack back to camp.
Now the fourth part of Pouring Forth Oil begins.
Pouring Forth Oil - IV
Pouring Forth Oil - IV medal objectives:
- Kill all the train guards before Sean fires a shot
- Clear the baggage car of loot
- Escape the Law within 1 minute 30 seconds
- Get 10 kills in Dead Eye
- Complete the mission without taking any health items
You need to go to the waypoint on the map (it's where you left the oil wagon previously) to get started.
Take the wagon to the train tracks, and after the cutscene, board the passenger car. As instructed, beat anyone who doesn't give over any money. You can rob more people than suggested for extra cash, but your honor will decrease.
After the painting Dead Eye tutorial, you'll be searching the luggage car. Use the mini-map to know exactly where to look.
After is a shootout from both sides of the train. Dead Eye is perfect here, as is using the mini-map to see where enemies are coming from.
When you need to escape, we recommend taking the train tracks west out of the area. Go full pelt and you should lose them very quickly.
With the mission is over, you get your personal share of the robbery - $187. Don't spend it all at once!
