Resi 4 Wii announcement soon
Capcom drops more hints.
Capcom has told Eurogamer this afternoon to expect an announcement soon about Resident Evil 4 on Wii.
Unfortunately that currently leaves us none the wiser on whether we'll see a new version of it on the console, but it certainly supports recent rumours that something is in the pipeline.
First to let off wind about it was US retailer Gamestop, which posted a listing for the title with a June release date. However, that page soon disappeared into the voids of the Internet.
Then, more recently, Japanese magazine Famitsu broke news on a Wii outing, claiming that Capcom was busy working on completely new controls and extras for the game.
It all seems to point in one direction, but we've been let down before. Like that time when we turned up in fancy dress and no one else did.
Resident Evil 4 launched on GameCube back in 2005, and was a strong contender for Eurogamer's game of the year award, just pipped at the post by Tim Schafer's Psychonauts.
It's since been released on two other formats: PS2 in late 2005, and PC last month.
