Resident Evil 3 Parasites - How to remove the Parasite status effect from Drain Deimos

How to cure with the new affliction.

Curing the Parasite status effect is something new to deal with in the Resident Evil 3 remake.

In the early part of the game, you'll encounter Drain Deimos - a giant flea-like creature which can infect you and give you Parasites. This needs to be treated - but thankfully, it's no more complicated than dealing with low health.

How to remove Parasites in Resident Evil 3

Once you use the lockpick for the first time, you are infected with a Parasite from a Drain Deimos.

As mentioned in the Green Herbs: They Work! File found nearby, it says you can remove nasties from your body by consuming a Green Herb.

Head into your inventory and use one as you would usually, and Jill will then throw up - curing you of the Parasite status effect.

If you need a Green Herb in this first instance, there is some just to your right, next to where you would have collected that File.

With that sorted, proceed through the gate to Reset the Circuit Breakers - a location where you're bound to be infected with Parasites again a few more times.

Our full Resident Evil 3 walkthrough explains every aspect's of Jill's, including the Shotgun location, Bolt cutters and Lockpick locations, how to reset the Circuit Breakers to restore power in the Substation, find the Drugstore safe code solution and Aqua Cure clue, Police Station Safe, Locker codes, Hospital safe code and courtyard box for the Magnum explained.

How to avoid using a Herb to cure Parasites for the 'I Might Need These Later' achievement

If you don't have a Green Herb - or don't want to use one as part of the 'I Might Need These Later' achievement, which has you use as few healing items as possible in a run through - it's worth knowing the Parasite effect won't actually kill you.

The status effect ultimately slows your movement speed down as if you were in an injured state, while covering the screen with that red status effect.

If you complete the proceeding Reset the Circuit Breakers section, Jill will puke up the parasite regardless, letting you continue unhindered. (Thanks to reader burninggalaxyx for the tip!)
