Resident Evil 3 Jewels: Where to find all Blue Jewel, Green Jewel and Red Jewel locations to open the Monument

Where to find the optional items before returning to the Subway.

The Blue Jewel, Green Jewel and Red Jewel locations are all optional items can collect in the opening areas of Resident Evil 3.

All of them can be found as soon as you have the Lockpick and Bolt Cutters, and are recommended to be done as soon as you've completed the train puzzle - as once you return to the Subway, you cannot explore them again.

Doing so will allow you to activate the Monument back in the Subway, giving you some useful upgrades, including one for the Shotgun.

Where to find Resident Evil 3's Jewels in the Supermarket and Toy Shop

There are many other optional items to find now we have the Lockpick and the Bolt Cutters. As mentioned, once you have returned to the subway area after completing the train puzzle, you cannot come back - making this the point of no return.

First, make sure you open the Aqua Cure safe if you haven't already. Second, you can use the Bolt Cutters on the locked alleyway opposite the Donut Shop for an alleyway with Handgun Ammo, a Grenade, Shotgun Shells and several zombies. We also recommend you use the map to look for any red areas which may contain further locked lockers and cases.

Most of them have consumables such as health items, ammo or Gunpowder, but provided you can reach them without much harm, they are worth the trip.

Additionally, make sure you visit the Kitchen safe room in the back of the Donut Shop. Not only is there a locked locker (use the Lockpick) just outside for a Grenade, but within the safe room which has a Locked Box and a Red Jewel. We'd also recommend you save your game while you are here.

Once you have travelled through the other side of the Donut Shop and back towards the Subway, Nemesis will show up. We recommend sprinting past him. Nemesis will continue to give chase and occasionally drag you with his vines, but provided you keep moving, you should be safe.

From here, run up the stairs towards the subway, but once you turn right onto the main street, there is a Supermarket on your left and a Toy Shop on your right. Use the Lockpick and Bolt Cutters to open your way in to them. Once inside, Nemesis won't attack - but he will be waiting for you.

The supermarket is where you'll find a box containing a Blue Jewel - plus a Fist Aid Spray on the shelves - useful for Nemesis prowling outside.

Opposite the Supermarket is the Toy Shop. Here is where you'll find a Bobble Head on your right, the Your Charlie Doll File and a box containing the Green Jewel.

Where to use the Blue Jewel, Red Jewel and Green Jewel in the Monument

With these items in your possession, double check the map to make sure you don't have any red areas which might contained missing items. And, again, make sure you have opened the safe, which contains a useful weapon upgrade.

When ready, venture out on the street and retrace your steps back to the Subway. There are zombies along the way, but don't stop to fight them - Quick Step their lunges, as well as Nemesis as he continues to attack.

The Subway entrance will have a 'Here' spray painted on the shutter, showing exactly where to go. Once inside, it will shut for good.

In the corner is the Monument, a console you can insert the three coloured Jewels.

After each one, you will receive a new reward:

  • First Jewel - Grenade
  • Second Jewel - Tactical Stock (Shotgun weapon upgrade)
  • Third Jewel - Hip Pouch (storage upgrade)

Worth the hassle, right? You'll also earn the Power Stones achievement / trophy for the trouble.

With this done, it's time to Lure the creature away then explore the Sewers.
