Rock Band's US release will be supported by a community minded relaunch for the game's official website - www.rockband.com - to help encourage the game's early buyers to play together.

Speaking to GameSpot, developer Harmonix explained that the website would include leaderboards, personalised band pages, blogs, forums and a classified ads section so Lennons can find their McCartneys.

The news comes as the developer reveals that it has moved up the game's release date by three days so that everyone can get hold of it in time for the US Thanksgiving holiday. PS3 and 360 versions will now hit on 20th November across the pond.

The game isn't due out here until early 2008, sadly, but those of you with big wallets and PS3s (actually, one necessitates the other anyway) can always consider the import option thanks to the PS3's region-free Blu-ray game playback.

That's if you're happy to stump up hefty import duties and delivery fees, of course - at least at launch, the only bundles available will be the USD 169.99 packages including drums, microphone and lead and bass guitars.
