Rockstar details enhancements coming to Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC
And you'll be needing 150GB storage.
Ahead of Red Dead Redemption 2's long-awaited arrival on PC next month, Rockstar has detailed some of the visual and technical enhancements, plus the system specs required to enjoy them, coming to the open-world cowboy adventure on the platform.
According to the developer, Red Dead Redemption 2's PC enhancements will allow for "deeper immersion", and include increased, higher quality global illumination and ambient occlusion (said to improve the game's day and night lighting), improved reflections and higher resolution shadows, tessellated tree textures, improved grass and fur textures, and, finally for now, higher quality snow trails.
Additionally, Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC will support HDR, multi-monitor configurations, and widescreen configurations, as well as the usual increased frame rates and resolutions - including 4K "and beyond" - you'd expect for high-end PCs.
And if you're wondering what sort of technological beast you'll require in order to run Red Dead Redemption 2's PC version, Rockstar has those answers too. Perhaps the biggest strain will, somewhat inevitably given the game's sizeable single-player and online components, be placed on your storage device, with Red Dead Redemption 2 taking up 150GB of space - not quite as much as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare it turns out.
