See Halo: The Master Chief Collection's Gungoose in action
"Our motivation behind it was pretty juvenile."
Microsoft has released new footage for Xbox One exclusive first-person shooter Halo: The Master Chief Collection, showing off the Gungoose in action for the first time.
In the video, below, from our friends at VG247, we see the Gungoose tearing up Zanzibar, one of six Halo 2 maps being remade for Halo 2 Anniversary. Skip to the 1 minute 45 second mark to jump straight to the Gungoose.
The Gungoose is the Mongoose vehicle from Halo 3 with guns, and can be used in a new game mode for Halo: The Master Chief Collection called Gungoose CTF. Back in July Coagulation was mentioned as the perfect map to play this mode on.
As for Zanzibar, unlike the other remade maps there is no dynamic element, so it plays much like it did back on the original Xbox, apart from the Gungoose, of course.
"Our motivation behind it was pretty juvenile," 343 executive producer Dan Ayoub told VG247. "We just thought it would be really cool to slap a bunch of guns onto it and see how it played. It was an experiment."
