SEGA digs more out for VC
Virtua Fighter 2 heads bill.
SEGA has confirmed that it is adding three more Mega Drive titles to its Virtual Console line-up in the near future, with 1996 beat-'em-up Virtua Fighter 2 heading up the trio.
It is the sequel to the first 3D beat-'em-up ever, which provided a strong foundation for the series many consider to be the cream of the fighting crop.
1989 title Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle will also join the list. You'll have to venture to planet Paperock in an effort to rescue your adult-knapped father, battling through 11 levels and facing off against bosses in a "paper, scissors, stone"-style battle. Not to be confused with Alex Mack.
Last but not least is Wonder Boy in Monster World, originally released way back in 1991, and the fifth in the platform RPG series. Apparently you "hop into the boots of young Shion as you undergo an adventure to rid the world of evil, using money to buy new spells and equipment that will get stronger the futher you progess. Can you rid the world of the evil BioMeka monsters?" Probably. Given time.
Unfortunately SEGA was unavailable to tell us when we could expect these, "soon" is all we currently have to go by.
All three games will be available for 800 points from the Wii Shop Channel.
