Konami's love affair with Apple's iPhone and iPod Touch continues - with a version of its 1999 arcade rail shooter, Silent Scope, of all things.

The game puts players behind the scope of the world's top sniper as he takes on terrorists in Chicagi to save the American President.

It'll feature multi-touch, tap-to-shoot controls that sound quite similar to those of Konami's recent and quite good iPhone shooting gallery, Metal Gear Solid Touch.

There's a training mode, as well as Story, Shooting Range and Time Attack stages for arcade mode, variable difficulty levels and more.

"Silent Scope allows players to conceal their firearms and perfect their sharpshooting skills wherever they go," said Konami Mobile boss Anthony Borquez. Maybe they'll be able to deplete enemies' stamina, too.

No date or price yet, but Konami says Silent Scope is "coming soon".
