Sleeping Dogs dev making free-to-play game for 2015

Nexon signs up to publish.

The developer of Sleeping Dogs is making a free-to-play game for release in 2015, it's announced.

Canadian studio United Front Games has signed a deal with Nexon America to publish the title.

"We can't wait to unveil our new title with Nexon America - we're confident it's going to be a smash hit," said UFG boss Stephen van der Mescht.

We don't know much about the game, although Nexon is talking it up as a triple-A quality free-to-play title.

UFG has been busy in recent years. It made ModNation Racers, LittleBigPlanet Karting, Sleeping Dogs and, most recently, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition.

As for Nexon, the South Korean online specialist is stepping up its western presence by signing a number of free-to-play games, including Splash Damage's Dirty Bomb and Robotoki's Human Element.
