Spec Ops: The Line dev announces "competitive quester" The Cycle

Yager has announced its next game: The Cycle.
The Cycle is a first-person shooter in which you compete with other players to complete quests during a match that lasts around 20 minutes.
The game is designed for 20 players to compete with each other on the map, but there are alien monsters to contend with, too.
Yager calls it a "competitive quester", a PvEvP shooter with a focus on emergent social dynamics. Anyone can attack anyone, but anyone can ally with anyone, too.
"Players can be cooperative and competitive at the same time," Yager boss Timo Ullmann said. "So, if you meet new players on your way, anything can happen."
The Cycle isn't quite battle royale then, but it sounds like it has elements of the genre. Players compete for objectives, which include collecting minerals or hunting wildlife, while being mindful of the competition.
Yager said The Cycle will come out first on PC via Steam, but a console version is planned. A closed alpha begins in early August.
