UK games charity SpecialEffect has launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for a new eye-controlled games unit.

The organisation hopes to raise £5960 to pay for the equipment, which allows users to control games simply by the movement of their pupils.

SpecialEffect will then be able to loan the unit to those who find it difficult or impossible to move other parts of their body - and so are unable to use a standard gaming pad.

The video below shows the technology in action - it's undeniable how much of a difference it makes for those normally unable to play.

The campaign launched this morning on Gambitious. It has £160 at the time of writing and 30 days remaining to achieve its goal.

Curious to see the technology in action? SpecialEffect will once again be attending Eurogamer Expo - pop along to their stand to say hello and see some of the great work they do.
