Spector "desperate" to port Epic Mickey 1 to PS3, 360
Plus, Epic Mickey 2 3DS confirmed, developed by Henry Hatsworth team.
Junction Point boss Warren Spector "desperately" wants to port the original Wii-exclusive Epic Mickey to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in advance of the sequel's impending multiplatform release.
Speaking in an interview with Game Informer, Spector stopped short of confirming a port is on the cards but expressed his desire to have more gamers try out the 2010 release.
"I will tell you I desperately want to do it, and other than that I have no comment at this time. I just think it would be cool for people to see where the story started, so we'll see," he said.
"We sold many millions of copies of [Epic Mickey] on just the Wii, and being on the Wii was great. It was a perfect way to reintroduce Mickey as a hero in video games."
The original Wii game scored a middling 6/10 - see Eurogamer's Epic Mickey review for details.
In other Epic Mickey news, the rumoured 3DS version of the sequel has been confirmed. It's titled Epic Mickey 2: Power of Illusion and is being developed by Dreamrift - the same team responsible for cult DS platformer Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure.
Additionally, Kotaku spotted that UK studio Blitz Games is helping Junction Point put together the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game.
Never heard of them? It was set up in the early '80s by legendary Codemasters duo Andrew and Philip Oliver, who created the Dizzy franchise among others. Its recent releases include licensed titles like Puss in Boots, The Biggest Loser: Ultimate Workout and SpongeBob's Surf and Skate Roadtrip.
Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two is due out on PlayStation 3, Wii and Xbox 360 later this year, published by Disney Interactive.
