Twisted Pixel - developer of Xbox Live Arcade hits 'Splosion Man and The Maw - has been helping Turbine develop its console MMO.

That's according to a listing on the Twisted Pixel website, spotted by Massively.

"It's still hush hush, but we just finished a contract with Turbine to help them build an awesome new MMO intended for consoles," said the studio.

"If you want more than that, you'll have to take it up with Turbine, because we can't spill the beans on their top-secret game. It was a fun project, and we're proud of our work. We can't wait to play it ourselves when it's released."

Turbine confirmed it was working on an MMO for consoles back in 2008, although it has never let slip any details on what the project might be. There's been speculation about a console version its The Lord of the Rings Online, or Dungeons & Dragons Online MMOs - and since the studio's acquisition by Warner Bros. this year, there's also been talk about the possibility of an online Harry Potter game.

At GDC Austin last year, the developer revealed that it didn't think a port of a PC MMO would work - but said it felt consoles had the potential to become the biggest market for MMOs, just as they have for shooters, RPGs and sports games.

By the way, Twisted Pixel is also working on a new XBLA game called Comic Jumper that looks quite fun. Watch the latest trailer below.
